Support to Indonesian-Swiss Intellectual Property Project

The ISIP project is a four-year project to strengthen the use of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in Indonesia. The objective is a better protection of IPRs contributing to higher competitiveness and more value added to Indonesian products, which results in a positive impact on Indonesia's economic development.

Through twinning the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual property (IPI) with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights of Indonesia (DGIPR), Ministry of Law and Human Rights, it aims at enhancing technical capacities in selected areas of high priority to the Indonesian Government.

The project intervenes at three levels by combining:

  1. capacity building at the policy level,
  2. support the DGIPR to better serve IPR users, and
  3. demonstrate good practices through pilot projects for using Geographical Indications (GIs) to market local products at national and international levels

The IPI implements the ISIP project on behalf of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The IPI mandated Yayasan Sahabat Cipta to support in planning, implementation and monitoring of the ISIP project.
