Breathe Easy Jakarta Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) is partnering with the Government of Jakarta (“DKI”) to advance improvements to air quality and public health through the “Breathe Easy, Jakarta” program.

The program aims to better understand Jakarta’s air pollution problems, assess needs for increased air quality monitoring and training, and to develop cost-effective strategies for improvement.  The program and capacity building will provide tools for Jakarta and the Government of Indonesia as they implement their air quality management systems.

The overall objective is to get a better understanding of Jakarta’s air pollution problems and develop cost-effective strategies for improving air quality and public health. The objectives and indicators will be achieved within the Period of the MOU (2011-2015). The program will be implemented in two phases: Phase 1 (2011-2013) and Phase 2 (2014-2015).
